Even though Arsenal are back being linked to Porto midfielder Danilo Pereira over the past couple of months, it seems this move is not very close to happening.
Newspaper O Jogo today has a story saying the Dragons are ready to let the midfielder go this summer, but his departure isn’t urgent.
That means Porto will only let him go for the right price, and so far, none of the clubs who are interested are willing to pay that.
Recent reports from the English media have been claiming that Arsenal would like to spend €20m on Danilo, and that’s something O Jogo rules out.
The report says Porto believe this is a ‘short’ amount, as the club would like to make something close to €30m with this sale.
The Dragons rejected an offer of that same €30m last summer, yet now believe this would be a fair amount for the current market.
Danilo has a contract with Porto until 2022, and is protected by a €60m release clause. Since he’s been an important player for the club for years now, they don’t feel like there should be a rush to make money with his sale.
