Manchester City youngster Pedro Porro is still expected to complete a loan move to Sporting this summer.

Porro joined Manchester City in £10.8m deal from Girona last summer but was immediately loaned out to Real Valladolid for this season.

He struggled for game time at the Spanish club, with injuries meaning he was limited to just 15 appearances and 926 minutes of football in total.

That means another loan spell looked likely this summer and a move to Sporting has been presented as close to completion over the last few weeks.

Record state that is the case today, saying Sporting consider the deal as ‘assured’ and Porro will spend the next two years at the club.

Should that spell prove to be a success, the deal also includes an €8.5m purchase clause at the end of it.

When the deal will be completed isn’t mentioned, but there is confidence all round that it will happen sooner rather than later.

It’s now down to Porro to make it work as he joins the long line of youngsters heading out from Manchester City to develop around Europe.
