On July 31st, Sky Sports reported that Everton have moved ahead of three other Premier League clubs in the race for Sergio Reguilón.

It was also explained the Toffes have submitted a bid of £18m (€20m) for the Real Madrid player, who spent the 2019/20 season on loan at Sevilla.

The left-back’s fine displays, in a campaign in which the Spanish side finished fourth and qualified for the Champions League, have drawn attention from elsewhere.

Monday’s edition of Mundo Deportivo explains Real Madrid are looking to raise funds through the sale of some of their players.

Reguilón is among them, and has offers to leave the club. Los Blancos ‘want to transfer him’ this summer.

The British press’ report about the Toffees submitting a €20m bid for the defender is discussed again.

It’s claimed that despite receiving a proposal from the Merseyside club, the fullback’s plan is to continue at Sevilla. However, Julen Lopetegui’s side are ‘studying how to pay’ the €20m demanded by Real Madrid for his transfer.

Zinedine Zidane has the left-back position covered through Marcelo and Ferland Mendy.

Reguilón will have no place at Real Madrid next season, and if Sevilla fail to pay €20m for him, it could then provide an opportunity for Everton.
