Watford goalkeeper Pontus Dahlberg is waiting for Watford to decide on his future having seen his season brought to an end by COVID-19.
The Swedish goalkeeper joined the Hornets in a £3.51m deal from IFK Göteborg on deadline day of the January transfer window.
He is yet to make an appearance for them, though, instead spending the second half of 2018 on loan with Göteborg.
He returned to Vicarage Road in the summer but by January had moved again, joining Emmen on loan until the end of the season.
He has not made an appearance for the Dutch side either, with the Coronavirus outbreak having found him in isolation like footballers across Europe.
With the Dutch league brought to a premature end, his season is now over, and RTV Drenthe report that he is waiting in his native Sweden to discover his future.
Technically his loan deal at Emmen doesn’t expire until June 30th so he is their player until then and he is waiting for ‘clarity about his future’ from Watford after that.
The website reports that there is every chance that he could stay at the club next season and he ‘may be available for rent’ although that will entirely depend on Watford.
