The Italian media are today seriously setting their eyes towards Wolves.
Earlier today we covered Gazzetta dello Sport’s latest claims on Leander Dendoncker to Lazio, and it’s clear there’s still a level of delusion around what he’d cost.
That delusion extends to Raul Jimenez, with Calciomercato suggesting Juventus could sign him in a low cost deal. He wouldn’t be their first choice right now, but the Wolves man is said to have been presented as an option.
Calciomercato claim Jorge Mendes, who has good relations with both clubs, has proposed the Mexican to the Turin club.
Given swap deals are all the rage in Italy right now, the report naturally says players could be sent to Wolves in exchange, rather than Juve having to pay a straight transfer fee.
Sami Khedira and Daniele Rugani are out forward as having been of interest to Wolves, and Juventus would have to find someone ‘willing to move to Wolverhampton’, which they clearly don’t think is the most attractive prospect.
This all feels like pie in the sky for now, yet if Mendes is offering Mendes around on behalf of the Premier League club then it could be they’ve decided to possibly cash-in and move on.
Even in that scenario, it’s clear Jimenez wouldn’t be a low cost option.
