Sabah report Besiktas technical staff have vetoed a move for Manchester City goalkeeper Claudio Bravo because of the player’s age.
The 37 year old will become a free agent at the end of the season and there were reports in the Turkish press which stated Besiktas could look to sign him to replace Liverpool loanee Loris Karius.
There have been recent reports the German will return to Anfield in the summer despite the Super Lig side having a right of redemption on the player.
However, the Turkish newspaper claim that Besiktas’ technical staff have evaluated the options ahead of the summer transfer window, and they’ve decided not to sign Manchester City’s goalkeeper, along with Union Berlin’s Rafal Gikiewicz.
Bravo has made 16 appearances for Pep Guardiola’s side this season in all competitions and managed to keep four clean sheets.
Besiktas will remain in the transfer market to find a replacement for Karius, with the likes of Joe Hart and John Ruddy both said to be possible targets for the Turkish giants.
