Robinho moved to Manchester City from Real Madrid on deadline day of the 2008 summer transfer window.

The forward arrived in England on the same day the City Football Group completed their take over of the Premier League side.

He spent 18 months with the Premier League club before being sent out on loan to Santos in January 2010. Having returned from his loan spell, the Brazilian left City for AC Milan on a permanent transfer.

Earlier today, we covered claims made by Robinho that he regrets having not helped the English club win the title.

The 36-year-old, who’s currently with Turkish side İstanbul Başakşehir, made those comments while speaking to Marca and he also gave an insight about his life away from the pitch during his time in England.

“I liked Manchester, the club, the restaurants… but let’s not forget the discos,” he said.

“I liked having fun. But the English players went out more than the Brazilians. Joe Hart was always out, Micah Richards and Shaun Wright -Phillips the same.”

Real Madrid signed the South American from Santos in 2005 and Robinho still remains grateful to the La Liga club’s president Florentino Pérez for bringing him to Europe.

“I would very much like to see Florentino Pérez again, give him a hug and thank him for all the good things he did for me. For all the love he gave me,” Robinho explained.
