Turkish newspaper Fanatik report Liverpool were interested in signing Fenerbahce’s young goalkeeper Berke Ozer, before the Yellow Canaries decided to loan him to Belgian side Westerlo last summer.
The 19 year old goalkeeper was linked with a move to a host of European clubs before Fenerbahce signed him in the summer of 2018 from his boyhood club Altinordu for €2.5m.
It’s claimed Liverpool tabled an offer for Ozer but Fenerbahce rejected it as they feel the player could feature in their first team in the coming years.
The Merseyside club are said to be looking for a goalkeeper to provide a backup to Alisson Becker, and the Premier League leaders have repeatedly been linked with a move for Trabzonspor’s Ugurcan Cakir.
Ozer is now playing in the Belgian second tier with Westerlo and has made 22 appearances for the club, keeping six clean sheets.
His contract with Fenerbahce will expire at the end of June 2022.
