Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Victor Wanyama has revealed one of the main reasons he joined the Premier League side. The Kenyan signed for the North London club in the summer from Southampton, having been linked with several others English moves.
“He’s played a big part in convincing me to join the club. I had a few options but he was able to convince me to come here because I had worked with him before and I he as a manger will improve players,” said the Kenya international.
Wanyama joined Tottenham from Southampton in the summer for a fee of £11m, after three seasons with the south coast side. It was under Pochettino at Southampton that the 25-year-old developed as a player following his move from Celtic in 2011.
Wanyama was one of Tottenham’s standout players in the impressive victory against Manchester City last weekend, which resulted in Pochettino’s side climbing to second in the Premier League table.
