Cast your mind back to January 21st, and you may remember us telling you about Leeds United youngster Rafa Mújica and his woes at Extremadura.
For those that don’t remember, the youngster was having a torrid time at the Spanish club, who he joined on loan from Leeds last summer.
He’d managed just eight appearances for them all season, neither scoring or assisting in any of them and at one point had left a match in tears after missing a last-minute sitter.
It was expected that a premature return to Leeds could be in the offing before the end of January and that proved to be the case.
That’s precisely what has happened, with El Periodiódico Mediterráneo reporting that despite limited game time so far, he’s proving to be a hit.
They report ‘it has been noted’ that Mújica has ‘quality and skill’ in the rival’s penalty area, with him managing two goals in his first three games to date.
Mújica himself is also seemingly much happier, telling the newspaper his ‘integration to the group’ has been ‘quick’, and he is now focused on helping his side with either goals or simply ‘work’.
All in all, the new move seems to working out nicely for everyone involved. Mújica is happy, Villarreal B have themselves a new goalscorer and Leeds can sit back comfortably knowing the 21-year-old is finally somewhere worthwhile. All’s well that ends well.
