Liverpool were relatively quiet during the January window, with no panic at Anfield to match that going on up the road at Old Trafford.
Jurgen Klopp’s team is pretty well set, as the Reds march their way to the Premier League title and look to retain their Champions League trophy.
They did sign Takumi Minamino from Red Bull Salzburg at the beginning of the market, a transfer which was made possible due to the player’s release fee, and one which brought more praise the way of those in charge of recruitment at the club.
However, France Football report they didn’t get everything they wanted.
They state Liverpool made a €35m offer for Samuel Chukwueze, but Villarreal knocked the effort back, feeling they can get much more for the player in the future.
As France Football have it, the La Liga club are looking at something around €65m, and it’s stated Liverpool or Chelsea will have to pay something approaching that figure.
Chukwueze is primarily a right winger, but the 20 year old can also play on the left or through the middle if required.
