Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale is unlikely to return to Tottenham Hotspur on deadline day, a source has told Sport Witness.
The 30-year-old gets linked with a move away from the 13-time European champions in every window and there’s been no exception in the ongoing winter market.
Earlier today, reports coming out of the British press suggested Spurs have made progress in their effort to sign the Welshman.
It was also stated Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy travelled to Madrid to hold talks with his Real Madrid counterpart, Florentino Pérez.
However, Bale’s chances of re-joining the north London club are slim, according to a source close to the player.
The Spanish press has continuously tried to push Bale out of the La Liga side, but have so far failed in their efforts.
Bale still has over two years left on his contract at the Santiago Bernabéu and Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has dismissed the possibility of the player leaving the club on Friday.
“Gareth is here with us and I am counting on him. I am not contemplating this possibility,” Zidane said.
