Serge Aurier has been enjoying life under Jose Mourinho, with the manager relying on the right back.
In December, we covered claims from France that Aurier had dropped ideas about leaving Tottenham Hotspur.
There were insinuations the player wasn’t given a fair chance under Mauricio Pochettino, and things had changed with the Argentine’s exit.
Aurier and Mourinho held a chat, with the manager filling his player full of confidence and optimism for the future. Therefore, plans to leave were shelved.
Today, the same French source which carried those claims, Foot Mercato, reports Aurier is keen on signing a new deal with the Premier League club.
Joining from PSG in 2017, the 27 year old has a contract with Spurs until June 2022, and would like to commit himself for a longer period.
There’s interest from German clubs, but it’s clearly not tempting enough.
Aurier ‘feels good’ in London and would like to ‘continue his adventure’ in the city. Luckily for him, Tottenham are ready to start negotiations, and it’s explained the situation could accelerate quickly.
Given this is all clearly coming from the player’s camp, it shows Aurier is very happy with his current situation.
