Given how crazy Sunday was, Monday has so far been pretty calm on Steven Bergwijn’s proposed move to Tottenham Hotspur.

Having not played for PSV on Sunday afternoon, the attacker took to Instagram to say stories about him refusing selection weren’t true. The Dutch media didn’t really buy it, and there’s been talk of chaos at the Eredivisie club, both on and off the pitch.

Sunday saw PSV threaten to call off all talks with Spurs if Bergwijn had travelled to London ahead of a potential medical, making it very clear he didn’t have permission to do so.

Eindhoven Dagblad report on Monday afternoon that talks have restarted between Tottenham and PSV. Their headline says there could be ‘white smoke soon’, so it’s felt that an agreement isn’t far away.

ED report ‘a fast deal is expected’, with the Dutch club getting more than €30m.

The chill has left the air, and it’s even expected Bergwijn will soon be able to travel to London for a medical and to complete a move… with permission this time.
