Thankfully, Rafa Mujica’s time at Extremadura has come to an end.
Joining Leeds United in the summer, having been released by Barcelona, the 21 year old was sent out on loan to Extremadura for the current season.
Things didn’t go well at all for the youngster, and he struggled for minutes on the pitch. When he was selected, Mujica wasn’t able to show he should be used more.
At the weekend he missed an easy chance towards the end of a match, and it was reported in Spain that he left the stadium in tears. If Leeds United needed any more signs they needed to find their player a new home than that was it.
Things have moved quickly and Mujica will spend the rest of the season on loan with Villarreal’s B team, a move which had been predicted in the Spanish media earlier this month.
Gols Media picture Mujica in the club’s shirt at Villarreal’s offices, and it’s now just a case of making the loan official via an announcement.
