Turkish newspaper Gunes claim Galatasaray midfielder Steven Nzonzi, who’s currently on loan from AS Roma, has decided to sign for West Ham United.
Yesterday we covered claims from Turkey that the French midfielder rejected Sheffield United’s offer as he reportedly wants to play for a ‘more prestigious club’ ahead of Euro 2020.
The same report also said he’s still in talks with West Ham and Everton over a potential move.
Today, Gunes claim West Ham have reached an agreement with AS Roma over Nzonzi, as Hammers manager David Moyes looks to bolster his squad before the deadline next week.
It’s also reported his move to the Premier League side will be announced in the coming days, with Galatasaray more than happy to part ways with him.
Nzonzi joined Galatasaray on a loan deal at the start of the season and the Super Lig club also had the option to extend this for a further year.
However, he’s failed to impress Gala manager Fatih Terim and was left out of the squad in the final games of last year.
His contract with AS Roma will expire at the end of June 2022.
