Marcos Rojo hasn’t featured for Manchester United since he came off the bench in stoppage time during his side’s win over Brighton & Hove Albion on November 10th.
A muscle injury has kept him on the sidelines and he could spend the remainder of the season away from Old Trafford, if claims coming out of Argentina are to be believed.
According to TNT Sports, the defender has contacted Estudiantes’ leaders and has ‘everything agreed’ to join them.
After enduring an irregular campaign, Rojo was declared as transferable by the Red Devils.
The player had offers from Europe and Mexico, but he turned them down because he and his family want to return to Argentina so they can be close to their relatives.

Estudiantes are in search of a centre-back and their idea is to take Rojo on loan for four months, provided Manchester United give approval for the transfer.
The report also adds Estudiantes chairman Juan Sebastián Verón is negotiating with the Premier League side to take Rojo on loan. Verón is arguing the player’s value could increase if he moves and gets games.
That’s unlikely at Estudiantes, a PL move would work better in that regard.
