Just when it seemed the Borna Barisic to Serie A rumour was dead for this window, it’s been brought back to life again.
AS Roma had been interested in signing the Rangers player, and had a completely unrealistic plan to take him on loan and have a €5m buying option. Not only is that valuation way too low, the deal would have also given the Italian club the option to send him back to Ibrox if he didn’t excel.
Thursday saw an admittance in the Italian media that it wouldn’t be happening, and Rangers asking price was put at €10m.
AreaNapoli may well have the reason why Steven Gerrard’s player is continually being linked with a move to Serie A. It’s claimed Barisic’s father is offering the player around, and has tried his luck with Napoli.
An intermediary is said to be working with the Rangers player’s father, and approached the club. There’s not a great deal of interest from them in Barisic, however, it’s stated the player is also being offered to clubs in other countries.
