Brighton youngster Billy Arce has joined Liga Deportiva Universitaria de Quito on loan until the end of the season.
On Saturday we covered a report from El Comercio that the Ecuadorian team were keen on the forward and looking to tie up a deal on Monday.
They now update their story and say the 21-year-old passed medical check-ups with the team yesterday at the Toa Clinic in the north of the city.
He has now signed a loan deal until the end of the season, which will include an option for them to turn the move into a permanent one.
The report states there were no problems with ‘chronic injuries or physical issues’ telling the El Comercio that Arce ‘had better results than other players. He won’t have a problem getting ready’.
As earlier reported, the move from Brighton includes specific stipulations, with the club keen to ensure the issues that have plagued Arce do not follow him to his new club.
The latest report claims that before completing the move from Brighton, Arce met with coach Pablo Repetto, who made it clear that they will not tolerate any acts of ‘indiscipline’.
Indeed, his agent, Juan Pablo Ribadandeira, revealed that his contract at the club includes conditions for his client to meet in terms of ‘discipline compliance’.
Arce was expected to meet his new teammates this morning before taking training as he looks to get a stumbling career back on track.
