Norwich City signed Philip Heise from Dynamo Dresden in the January 2019 transfer window, and the move hasn’t exactly gone as hoped for.
The defender wasn’t required by the club as they made their way from the Championship to the Premier League, and he hasn’t been featuring since promotion either.
With no minutes in the league so far this season, and only two bench appearances, the 28 year old has been restricted to outings in the EFL Cup, EFL Trophy and PL 2.
German newspaper Bild report on Friday afternoon that FC Nürnberg are ‘about to’ sign the Norwich outcast.
The deal would be on a loan basis for the rest of the season, and it’s not thought there’s going to be a buying clause in the contract.
FC Nürnberg are third from bottom in Bundesliga 2 and fighting to avoid relegation to the third tier of German football. It’s not exactly where Heise will have thought he’d be a year after signing for Norwich City.
As long as there’s no hiccups, he’ll have a medical on Saturday and then be presented to the club’s fans.
