Chelsea are having a big transfer day in the European sport media.
Earlier, we covered claims from Spain that Frank Lampard’s side have made a firm offer for Dinamo Zagreb’s Dani Olmo, providing competition to Barcelona for the Spain international.
Now there’s a claim from France about another offer, this time for Moussa Dembele.
The Lyon player was repeatedly linked with Chelsea whilst at Celtic, and Foot Mercato say interest from the London club remains. On top of that it’s claimed Chelsea have submitted a €40m offer for Dembele, which Lyon have swatted away, not wanting to sell this winter and believing their asset is worth more.
It’s not made clear when the Chelsea offer arrived, although it must be very recently, as Foot Mercato say the club should return ‘quickly’ with a better proposal.
According to their information, Chelsea could use Olivier Giroud as part of the deal to tempt Lyon. Earlier this week we covered claims from France that Lyon are interested in the striker, so this may not be such a bad plan.
