Chelsea attacker Willian has been selected in Gazzetta dello Sport’s European Team of the Week for last weekend’s round of matches.
Willian was Chelsea’s standout player last season, but has struggled to show the same form in this campaign. However, the Brazil international showed signs that he could be getting back to these levels with his impressive display on Saturday.
Willian was instrumental in his side’s 2-0 victory, and helped to seal the win by scoring Chelsea’s second goal.
This was a welcome result for Chelsea manager Antonio Conte who has come under pressure in recent weeks.
Going into the game against Hull City Chelsea hadn’t won their last three Premier League games. A draw with Swansea City was followed by back to back defeats to Liverpool and Arsenal. Despite this poor run of form Chelsea are still just five points off leaders Manchester City going into the international break.
