If you had to name a player at Leicester City that Real Madrid are keen on, it’s unlikely that you’d come up with Ayoze Pérez.
According to Defensa Central, though, that’s precisely who the Spanish giants have got their eye on.
Pérez joined Leicester in a £30m deal from Newcastle United this summer and, like everybody else, is flourishing under Brendan Rodgers.
He has four goals and an assist in 12 games this season and it’s that form which has put him back on Real Madrid’s radar.
Defensa Central, a Madrid focused website, say the La Liga giants have had their eye on Pérez for several seasons after getting numerous positive reports about him.
And while there are other priorities for the club, they ‘do not forget him’ and are seemingly keeping an eye on how he’s getting on.
The website says he is a player that ‘fits’ the club as he has the experience, does not have a high starting price (they believe) and has ‘great talent in his boots’.
In terms of a transfer fee, it’s acknowledged that it would cost more than the £30m that Leicester paid to sign him this summer, should Madrid decide to make a move in future.
That’s probably unlikely at this point, but more good performances from Pérez and Leicester may find themselves fighting to keep hold of him.
