When Christopher Jullien spoke to Calciomercato.it, his message was for everyone to get along and ensure what was being talked about after the game was what happened on the pitch.
That came after there was some issues in Glasgow when Lazio fans travelled to face Celtic a couple of weeks ago and made fascists signs in the street, and there was a genuine desire to avoid issues in Rome for the upcoming fixture.
Unfortunately, that hasn’t happened, with articles appearing that two travelling fans were reportedly stabbed on Wednesday night outside an Irish pub.
However, things could have been even worse, as Italia Sera are reporting that five Lazio ultras were denounced by the General Investigations and Special Operations Division after four were ‘found with baseball bats’ and the other ‘with a knife in a car’.
They were arrested last night by the police in Cascal Bruciato, which is ‘a neighbourhood where an event was being held in a social centre for Celtic fans’ ahead of the Europa League clash on Thursday night.
Hopefully that’s the end of all the trouble, although we’ll keep an eye on anything coming out of Italy throughout the day.
