According to Turkish newspaper Sabah, Liverpool send a scout to Istanbul on Monday night to watch Trabzonspor goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir in action.
Sabah claim Liverpool were getting a further lowdown on Ugurcan Cakir, who once again performed well, despite conceding a penalty in the second half against Istanbul Basaksehir.
We covered initial claims from Turkey that Liverpool are following the progress of the 23 year old and that they could come in with an offer for the youngster next summer. Initial reports from Turkey suggested Trabzonspor value their academy graduate in the region of €15m
Cakir has been in great form since the start of the season and he’s quickly established himself as a key player in Unal Karaman’s team.
The Trabzonspor academy product has made 16 appearances for the Turkish side in this campaign
He also made debut for the Turkish national team earlier this year and his contract with the Super Lig side will expire at the end of June 2024.
