Denis Zakaria has impressed for Borussia Mönchengladbach since joining them from Young Boys in 2017.
The defensive midfielder’s performances have caught the attention of clubs across Europe, including from England. Earlier this month, Bild reported Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United have ‘already expressed interest’ in the 22-year-old.
According to Sky in Germany, Liverpool have become the latest club to join the chase for the Bundesliga star.
It’s claimed the Champions League winners have been keeping an eye on the Switzerland international ‘for some time now’. The report claims United, along with Arsenal are also monitoring Zakaria.
Any approach from the Reds to sign the Mönchengladbach player could see them face competition from Bayern Munich. Borussia Dortmund are also credited with an interest in him.
Sky’s transfer expert Max Bielefeld is of the belief Zakaria will only join one club in Germany and that’s Bayern.
A price is put at around €50m.
