The rumours linking Everton to Brazilian wonderkid Reinier have returned this week, with claims a €30m bid was rejected last month.
This a story which has been going for a few months now. It was first claimed the player was close to moving to the Toffees on a €40m deal, and then reported that the Premier League side were not so sure about paying that much.
With the story being dragged for a while, it becomes obvious that the first bid never existed. And journalist Mauro Cézar Pereira now has a video explaining the player’s situation.
He says Reinier has indeed been attracting a lot of attention from European sides, since he’s been succeeding for Brazil’s youth levels and having a good start to his first team career with Flamengo.
Mauro Cezar says there have been many approaches, but so far, Flamengo haven’t received a single offer for the player. The journalist mentions possible ‘seducing offers’, which would be the case of Real Madrid’s bids for Vinícius Junior and Rodrygo, having signed each of them for over €40m.
So it seems that in case Everton are really in talks for Reinier, the Toffees are still to make a real attempt, or there’s disagreement over what constitutes an actual offer.
