Currently on loan at Brighton for the final year of his contract at West Brom, there is a 99.9% chance that Sébastien Pocognoli will leave on a free next summer.
Earlier on Thursday, we covered an interview from DH where the Belgian defender spoke of his rather poor relationship with Tony Pulis, which led to him looking for football elsewhere.
Describing his time under the former Stoke manager as a waste of time, Pocognoli clearly needed to get away from it all, but still liked the club itself enough to recommend it to one of his friends.
Speaking to DH about Brighton and his time at West Brom, the left-back explained he played a rather big part in bringing Nacer Chadli to the club, who scored two goals and picked up two assists in a 4-2 win over West Ham at the weekend.
He said: “Even if I lived some bad moments there, I still told Nacer he had everything to make it. He’s going to be given the keys to the game, and he needs it. I’m not surprised by his debuts.”
Considering how vital the winger has been since his arrival, if there’s one thing West Brom fans can remember Pocognoli for, it’s lending a helping hand in Chadli’s transfer from Tottenham.
