As Manchester City continue to negotiate with Velez Sarsfield for the transfer of Thiago Almada, Portuguese side Sporting keep waiting for things to happen fast.
The Lisbon club are expecting to get the player on a two year loan spell, and were hopeful they could use him in a friendly against Valencia on Sunday.
But as reported by newspaper Record today, it looks like the negotiations will be dragged out for a few more days.
The outlet says the deal between Manchester City and Velez Sarsfield isn’t in risk. But the Premier League club are still to find a final agreement for the player.
It’s said Pep Guardiola’s side are now ready to pay €22m for Almada, including the taxes. And the transfer should be made official by the start of next week, since Manchester City want things to be done as soon as possible.
Record also claims the player will be part of Sporting’s first team, but will have no pressure to show things so fast. After all, he’s still 18, and that’s why the loan spell will be two years.
