Throughout this month we’ve brought you various updates on the future of Everton winger Henry Onyekuru.

The Nigerian spent last season on loan at Galatasaray, scoring sixteen goals and registering six assists and playing a pivotal role in their Super Lig and Türkiye Kupası successes.

It was assumed that Onyekuru would return to Goodison Park this summer and we covered reports from various journalists that they were looking to secure a permanent sale for him this summer.

Well, Fanatik have provided an update on his future and, according to them, the opposite is in fact accurate.

They report that Galatasaray have struck a deal with Everton to take Onyekuru on loan for another season and that an agreement has been struck ‘in principle’ with Everton and the player.

Onyekuru is more than happy to return to Turkey, having enjoyed himself there last season and his manager, Willam da Villa, wants him to return there too.

There is no fee mentioned, although it does state that Onyekuru intends to return to Everton after spending another season with Galatasaray.

With no opposition from either side and Everton seemingly not interested in having Onyekuru back at this point, with there still being a work permit issues, this deal makes some sense.
