According to Fotospor, Championship clubs Middlesbrough and Cardiff City are in a tussle to sign Genk winger Mbwana Samatta.
Both English clubs will be looking to strengthen their squads this summer and the attacker looks to be an option.
It’s claimed Turkish club Fenerbahce are also interested in the player but Fotospor believe they are likely to be priced out of a move for Samatta because of his transfer fee.
Fotospor say the Genk player would cost Middlesbrough and Cardiff in the region of €13m, which is an issue for Fener due to their financial situation.
Middlesbrough and Cardiff will have ambitions to get promotion to the Premier League next season and Samatta could bring goals to either club.
He caught the eye of clubs last season, with the Tanzania international scoring 32 goals in 51 appearances. Lazio and Schalke are also said to be interested in the 26 year old and could make an offer.
Samatta is under contract with the Belgium club until June 2021.
