Marca Claro report West Ham’s Javier Hernandez is ‘clear’ about his future: he ‘wants to play’ in Spain again.
During the 2014/15 campaign, his former club Manchester United allowed the Mexico international to join Real Madrid on a loan deal.
A return to the Santiago Bernabeu is not on cards, but the 30-year-old is clear that he wants to leave the Hammers and join a Spanish club.
In the winter market, Valencia were keen on acquiring his services and the striker even agreed personal terms, which included a pay cut. However, Los Che were unable to find an agreement with Manuel Pellegrini’s side.
West Ham were looking for a sale, while Valencia wanted Hernandez on a loan deal with an option to buy.
Marca states it’s unlikely Marcelino’s side would make an approach for the player in the summer and even if they consider to bring in a new attacker, Hernandez won’t be the leading candidate.
His €4m-a-year salary at West Ham is difficult for clubs outside the Premier League to match and if an offer from Spain meets his ‘personal and professional expectations’, then the player is again ready to reduce his wage demands to complete a transfer.
Hernandez has offers from the MLS, but is not looking at making a switch to the US.
It should be seen if he will receive offers from La Liga, but as it stands, there has been no approach.
