Calciomercato claims Everton and Watford have carried out surveys for Cristián Zapata of AC Milan.
The Colombia international’s contract at the San Siro will expire on June 30th and despite receiving a ‘very attractive offer’ from Fenerbahçe in January, the Serie A side turned down the approach from the Turkish club.
The centre-back will turn 33 in September and the Rossoneri’s CEO Ivan Gazidis offered him a year extension that will see him earn €1.7m. The South American demanded a two-year offer, which was not accepted by his employer.
Unless there’s a change, Zapata is expected to leave his current employer as a free agent.
Everton ‘think’ of signing the free agent, and Watford are presented as seriously interested.
