Manchester United are trying to get ahead of the competition for the Lyon wonderkid Rayan Cherki, according to claims from France today.
As Foot Mercato brings a big story on the 15-year-old, they say the Red Devils have ‘launched the first manoeuvres’ to sign the teenager.
Foot Mercato’s story is a mix of their own claims with words from other outlets. What they have learned on their own is that the player’s parents have already met the ‘leaders’ from Manchester United.
It’s also said that France Football had mentioned the Red Devils’ interest, while English sources had claimed that the midfielders’ relatives visited the Premier League side’s facilities.
Since Cherki hasn’t turned 16 yet, he’s still to sign a professional contract. So although Lyon trust the player’s family that he’ll stay at the club, there’s obviously some fear that he could walk somewhere else.
Meanwhile, Juventus, Milan, Bayern, Ajax, Real Madrid and Barcelona are listed as the other clubs who are following the teenager.
