Last October, we covered a story in Stavanger Aftenblad where Thomas Solberg, father of Isak Midttun Solberg, confirmed Tottenham had offered his son a three-year contract.
The 15-year-old was spotted by the club after he made his debut for Bryne’s first-team at the age of 14, and was subsequently invited to have two trials, one with Spurs’ U16s and then with their U18s.
Those two stints in London clearly did the trick, since the deal was offered, and Thomas Sondberg explained a decision would be made ‘in the new year’ regarding his son’s future.
Well, according to Aftenposten, Isak Midttun Solberg has now signed for Tottenham, putting pen to paper on the deal on Tuesday.
The article in October stated the first two years of the contract offered would see the young shot stopper play for the club’s academy, while the third would be on ‘professional terms’.
It isn’t stated if Solberg signed the exact same deal or changes were made, so all we can do, for the time being, is assume the terms we’re the same.
