Italian outlet Calcio Mercato reports today the competition which is going on for the Swiss youngster Joel Ribeiro.
The website claims that Inter Milan, Torino and Atalanta are all interested in the 16-year-old. But they shouldn’t have an easy task, since Liverpool have been attracted by the player as well.
It’s claimed that Ribeiro, who also holds a Portuguese passport, still doesn’t have a professional contract at his club Lausanne, and could end up signing for another side.
Inter Milan are said to be the club who have made the ‘most concrete steps’ to sign the goalkeeper, but Calcio Mercato highlights Liverpool as strong competitors in the race for him.
Ribeiro has been playing for the Swiss national team youth levels, having made appearances for the U-15 and U-16 teams in the past couple of years.
With a teenager clearly not taking a place in the first team so quickly, Liverpool should present the player a good project so he can see himself growing at the club. Otherwise, the competition looks fierce.
