Tottenham were only willing to complete late deal at £35m, ‘very interesting’ for January

 

As the summer transfer window was coming to an end, there were repeated claims from Germany about Wolfsburg and Heung-Min Son. The South Korean international hadn’t done too badly at Spurs, but not kept up his early promise, and with additions he became expendable.

The story hasn’t died with the end of the transfer window, and SportBild have an article overing the situation on Tuesday. It’s claimed that Wolfsburg not only were interested, but remain so now, and will try again in January.

To back that up, the club’s sporting director Klas Allofs is quoted as saying: “He is a very interesting player for us.”

SportBild believe Wolfsburg had been willing to pay €32m for Son, but they say Tottenham apparently wanted €40m, a mighty £35m at the end of the transfer window.

A compromise will have to be made on price, but both Tottenham and Wolfsburg will be aware that the marketability of Son increases his transfer value.
