Aksam report Fenerbahce’s first choice to replace Martin Skrtel is Everton central defender Yerry Mina, with the Super Lig club considering making a move for the Colombian defender.
Following reports Skrtel is set to join Serie A side Parma at the end of the season the Turkish club are looking to replace the Slovakian international with Mina. The former Liverpool man will be out of contract in the summer when his deal expires with Fenerbahce.
Mina was a target for Fenerbahce during last summer’s transfer window but after an impressive World Cup with Colombian he instead joined Everton from Barcelona on a permanent deal.
According to Aksam, Everton could be tempted to send Mina on a loan deal and Fenerbahce will be keen suitors.
Mina is under contract at Goodison Park until June 2023 and this story seems almost delusional.
Fener are having a terrible season and aren’t yet safe from relegation.
That would make it unlikely Mina would be keen. On top of that is it being unlikely Everton would agree to a loan, and likely one which wouldn’t bring in a lot of money.
Then there’s Mina’s wages, Fener have struggled with Skrtel’s salary so would likely expect the Toffees to subsidise the move heavily, which is again unlikely.
