Leicester City parted ways with Claude Puel following their 4-1 defeat to Crystal Palace and appointed Brendan Rodgers as his successor.

Puel has been linked with the vacant managerial position at Bordeaux after the Ligue 1 side sacked Brazilian coach Ricardo Gomes.

In today’s edition of L’Equipe, the French newspaper take a look at the former Leicester manager’s chances of landing a job less than a week of being sacked by the Premier League side.

Joseph DaGrosa, the president of Bordeaux has already admitted that Gomes’ successor will be appointed in the coming days or weeks and Puel has been discussed as one of the candidates.

L’Equipe claims that there is a ‘great probability’ the new manager of the club will be a foreigner and not someone from France, meaning this should rule out the possibility of Puel being their next boss.

Paulo Sousa, who is without a job after his spell with Tianjin Quanjian, is the favourite of now and the negotiations have already begun with the Portuguese coach.
