We certainly didn’t expect to see Gonzalo Higuain’s future at Chelsea being discussed less than one month after his signing.
Having the player on loan from Juventus until the end of the season, the Blues have the option to extend the spell for one year by paying €18m or signing the player permanently for €36m.
And although it seemed like a fair price when the deal was agreed, Chelsea’s view has changed in the past few weeks, according to Calcio Mercato.
The website reports today that the Stamford Bridge side now think Higuain isn’t worth more than €30m in case they go for him in the summer.
That’s when Juve will have to do some thinking. Because in case they don’t accept Chelsea’s offer, they will have a problem finding a new interested side to sign Higuain once again, maybe even on another loan deal.
Higuain has four appearances for Chelsea so far, scoring two goals, both in the 5-0 win over Huddersfield.
