There’s two reports from Spain today which give a slant on West Ham and Maxi Gomez, as rumours continue about a possible deal for the striker.
Faro de Vigo say that in Valencia they believe West Ham and Celta Vigo are continuing talks over a potential move, and that would impact on Javier Hernandez’s future.
It’s thought that if the Hammers can sign the Uruguayan then they’ll let the Mexican move to Valencia. West Ham ‘don’t seem willing’ to let Hernandez go otherwise.
Talks are continuing, with Celta pointing to the €50m buyout clause, and the Premier League club’s latest offer said to be €35m plus a further €10m in bonus payments.
At La Voz de Galicia they say Celta have submitted an offer for Sergio Leon, who currently plays for Betis.
If successful, he’d be their third striker, along with Gomez and Iago Aspas. It’s arguably overkill, and La Voz point out there’s a ‘fear’ at Celta someone could pay Gomez’s clause before the Thursday deadline.
