Jairo Riedewald looks like he’s already on his second failed transfer of the past week, if El Desmarque are correct on Tuesday.
The Crystal Palace player had been on the verge of joining Celta Vigo for a few days, with the Galician side looking to complete the signing on the basis of a loan deal with purchase option.
There had been some confidence that move was just a matter of time away, and then things quickly changed.
Having found issues with the Riedewald deal, Celta moved on to Southampton’s Wesley Hoedt, invited the player over to Vigo, and on Tuesday announced they’d completed the loan move.
The reason for Riedewald’s fail was thought to be that he was off to Betis instead, but El Desmarque say the Seville club have been rejected because the footballer wasn’t given assurances he’d be starting matches, and be seen as a first choice.
He wants to leave Crystal Palace to find more prominence elsewhere, and if he can’t get that then he’s not fussed about moving at all.
