Sometimes a Spanish sport newspaper will make a transfer claim online and then never mention it again.
It won’t be deemed worthy of their hard copy edition and just brushed under the carpet as if it never happened in the first place.
Well, that’s not happening with Marca’s claims about Everton interest in Malcom.
After they published a website article on Wednesday, Marca have again pushed the story in their paper edition, explaining that the Toffees have made contact about a potential winter deal.
They’re said to have been keen in the summer, and now ‘return to the charge’. Contact has been made with the player, or those who represent him, to find out his wishes on a move.
Unfortunately it’s not a positive answer, with Malcom wanting to see how he does at Barcelona between now and the end of the season.
Interestingly, AS and others are reporting claims from Brazil that Chinese club Guangzhou are willing to offer €50m for the player.
Should Barcelona be tempted by such an offer then there’s a possibility Malcom could consider the Premier League a better option. It’s a long shot.
