Alex Sandro is a player wrapped in rumours and that’s been the case for years.
It’s often felt like Juventus have been dangling the Brazilian fullback in front of Premier League clubs without getting the bite they’re looking for, despite endless claims otherwise by the Italian sport media.
His current contract expires in June 2020, putting some pressure on the situation, but now it’s thought the announcement of a renewal is only a matter of days away.
Will that stop the rumours? Of course not.
Tuttosport cover the situation in their Sunday edition, and once again one of the clubs mentioned is Manchester United.
It’s stated that even with a renewal, Sandro’s future may not be at the Turin club.
That’s because an ‘irrefutable economic proposal’ from the Premier League could change everything, and Manchester United ‘haven’t stopped courting’ the player.
Tuttosport believe Sandro would be happy to stay if all things were equal, but the lure of huge money would be a temptation.
Given Luke Shaw’s progress this season and that Sandro probably isn’t at the consistent form he once was, these rumours don’t feel as obvious as they once did.
The player turns 28 years of age in January, should Juve want to cash in, and they’d feel able to demand more money after a renewal, then there’s not so many windows left for a huge offer.
