Tottenham Hotspur are one of 42 clubs who will have an official at the match between Club Brugge and AS Monaco on Wednesday evening.
Spurs will be joined by the likes of PSG, Bayern Munich, AC Milan, Chelsea, Juventus, Inter Milan, Marseille, Valencia, Sevilla, AS Roma, Lyon, Newcastle and Ajax.
The visit is reported by HLN and the Belgian newspaper, understandably, don’t know who Mauricio Pochettino’s spies will be watching.
Usually, AS Monaco players would be the obvious target and Spurs have been linked to several in recent years, but the French principality club has been turned upside-down and shaken to the point their team is unrecognisable from a few seasons ago.
Central defender Kamil Glik has been linked with Tottenham in the past, but at 30 years of age that ship may have sailed.
Youri Tielemans has been linked with the club previously, like he was with half the Premier League whilst at Anderlecht, but if the 21 year old has a good season his price will surely rocket, and if he doesn’t it’d clearly be a risk.
One option which could be interesting at Club Brugge is central defender Brandon Mechele. Recently called up by Belgium, the 25 year old would be a much cheaper option in comparison to some of the defenders being linked with Tottenham.
HLN believe the teams will be as follows…
