The Brazilian press is not very optimistic about the injury suffered by Manchester City fullback Danilo in the friendly match against Argentina on Tuesday.
Website Globo Esporte claims that it’s quite unlikely that the player could be called up for the international break in mid November, even though official information is still to be released.
Danilo left the pitch crying at the start of the second half after an ankle sprain. According to Globo Esporte, national team doctor Rodrigo Lasmar will wait for an MRI scan before making a statement.
The website claims that the problem could be just a sprain, a ‘bone edema’ or even ligament damage, which would be the worse case. It’s said that the Manchester City fullback could be out for a ‘long time’.
Danilo is getting a bad record in the national team due to injuries. He was hurt twice during the 2018 World Cup, and had already been left out of a Copa America in 2015.
