A day after Manchester United were eliminated from the Carabao Cup by Derby County, Sky Sports cameras caught Jose Mourinho’s clash with Paul Pogba at the club’s training base in Carrington.
Even before the video came out, several reports indicated the World Cup winner’s relationship with his manager at Old Trafford had broken down, while the Portuguese tactician has publicly insisted there is no problem between the two.
The 25-year-old midfielder’s former club Juventus and La Liga winners Barcelona were rumoured to be keen on securing his services in the summer transfer window, but no deal took shape.
He is managed by super agent Mino Raiola and the representative spoke to Rai Sport to talk about his client’s situation with the Premier League outfit.
“I prefer not to talk about it. It is a very delicate moment as we all know, but Manchester United were very clear with everyone: Pogba is not on the market,” Calciomercato quoted the agent as saying.
Raiola’s comments would appear to back up that things have not been great for Pogba at United and if the reports of Mourinho being sacked after the Newcastle United game are true, it should be seen whether the Frenchman’s situation would improve under the new manager.
