Pep Guardiola has ‘encouraged’ Manchester City to sign very exciting target

Pep Guardiola is one of the managers to have fallen head over heels for Tanguy Ndombele, L’Equipe makes very clear in their Tuesday edition.

The Lyon midfielder has seen big progression over the past year and that’s inevitably increasing interest in potentially signing him.

Whilst Tottenham were the Premier League club most linked with a move in the summer window, and Manchester United were weakly thrown in on occasion too, L’Equipe states Guardiola has ‘encouraged’ Manchester City to make a move for the player.

They didn’t manage anything in the summer transfer window, and Ndombele’s price has been on a steep upward curve for the past few months. Even if Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas could be convinced to sell in one of the next couple of windows, it’s going to be an expensive deal.

L’Equipe explain Ndombele is edging closer towards selection for the France squad, one of his aims for the future, and such a step forward would see a big leap in potential transfer fee.

The French newspaper state Guardiola’s opinion about Ndombele was confirmed when Lyon beat Manchester City earlier this season.
