Everton forward Cenk Tosun has told the Turkish media the team is playing better football than they were under Sam Allardyce.
Allardyce was sacked at the end of last season and in the summer was replaced by former Watford boss Marco Silva.
Yenisafak have reported on comments the Everton player made to NTV Sport when asked about the differences playing under Silva to Allardyce: “The club has made good transfers. Well, they’re good, they’re adapting. Our manager changed, there is a younger, hungry coach. He plays an offensive game. Of course, this is my business. This year we play football a little better.”
Tosun was Allardyce’s major signing for Everton when he was in charge at Goodison Park. The Turkey international was signed for a Turkish Super Lig record fee and after a slow start he found his feet towards the end of the season.
However, Allardyce was criticised for his style of football from some sections of the Goodison Park faithful and it came as no surprise when he was offloaded in the summer.
Silva brought in several players in the summer, especially in the attacking areas and it seems Tosun is happy with the investment the Everton board made.
