Liverpool’s Portuguese defender Tiago Ilori is a transfer target for new Olympiacos boss Paulo Bento, according to Contra in Greece. 23-year old central defender returned to Melwood for training after his duties with the Portugal team at the Rio Olympics ended.
Klopp already has Ragnar Klavan, Mamadou Sakho, Dejan Lovren and Joel Matip at his disposal and you can add youngsters Joe Gomez and Andre Wisdom to that list. Considering there’s no European football for Liverpool this season there’ll be no place for 23-year old Ilori in the Liverpool team.
But the problem is Liverpool want to sell Portuguese defender, who they signed 3 years ago, but Olympiacos just want him on loan.
Ilori was signed by current Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers from Sporting Lisbon and had 3 different loan spells with Bordeaux, Granada and Aston Villa. Ilori made only 3 FA Cup appearances for Liverpool, after called up by Jurgen Klopp.
There’s no official agreement between two clubs so far but both sides and Ilori himself want the deal to happen.
